11 Nov 2014 (Tues) - Its our
10th Dating cum 6th Wedding Anniversary today!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
To start with, the day didn't exactly begin well.
1) For the first time, Kitty was unable to take leave on 11 Nov cos he had an event to attend, so we could only have dinner together.
2) He already bought me my present (iPhone6) in advance, so I wasn't expecting any present nor surprise.
3) I reached home in the afternoon to find out that he sent me flowers, but the delivery failed cos I wasn't home to receive them and the delivery guy didn't even call me! So I was very disappointed, cos I like flowers. This sort of ruined my mood.
4) Kitty told me he would be a little late reaching the dinner venue (you know how much I dislike guys being late)
5) I reached the dinner venue (Singapore Botanic Gardens) only to overshoot the parking lots and entrance and was unable to make a U-turn because it was a one-way road. I had to wind through a super long Tyersall Avenue, get to the main road, go through don't know how many big rounds (plus there were road obstructions so had to use detour) just to get back to my intended destination. Wasted a good 15mins or so just doing that!
Ok anyway, so we were supposed to have dinner at Halia Restaurant located at Ginger Garden at the Singapore Botanic Gardens. We both reached at the same time, and I saw there was a bouquet of flowers for me!!!! Apparently, he was late cos he rushed down to Thomson to collect my flowers from Far East Flora as he didn't want me to be disappointed!
He had already bought me my anniversary present (iPhone 6) in advance, so I wasn't expecting anymore presents. Okay, if have, probably something cheap. I was handed a silver box and opened it to reveal a note and strands of gold paper. I dug deep into the box, and found two paper hearts!!! Wow, so old school but sweet, I thought. Its the first time he folded me any hearts (folding of hearts belonged to my secondary school generation when bus tickets were commonly used).
"Huh, paper hearts?", I asked. Not his style to be THAT cheapo. But sweet, I like.
"You see lah", he said.
I unfolded a heart and found it was actually an e-ticket to watch Mama Mia this Sunday at MBS!!!! WoOHOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! How cool is that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Super happy manz!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The ambience at Halia was romantic with dim lights on a quiet night. There weren't many diners too. The food was really good. I especially love the mushroom soup which was served with the waiter introducing the ingredients followed by pouring the soup into the bowl from a silver kettle. Its one of the best mushroom soups I ever had. Service was excellent too, even the waitress who so willingly helped us to take photos, haha.
Halia Chilli Crab spaghettini
Grilled Rangers Valley Wagyu Sirloin steak, smoked mash, avocado wasabi puree, heirloon tomato salad, yuzu dressing
The waiter certainly knew his stuff as he took a look at me and asked if I would like to have my steak well done. I never like to have steaks well-done, but what choice did I have being pregnant? I was pleasantly surprised that my steak was not rock hard, and at some parts, crispy and soft! The juices flowed deliciously into my mouth; I like it so much, wahahhahha!
Dessert - The Ginger Garden (served with banana fritters and some sweet stuff, and parts of ginger)
This is the card I handmade for Kitty. I used our thumbprints. Of course, the card was empty when I asked him to stamp his thumbprint lah.
The old cat wasn't expecting anything he likes as he claimed "you always buy me practical things rather than things I like". This time, he got it wrong. Look at his happy face!
Joker took a liking to my black rose pendant.
